Ting Power Insights
Power outages are not a niche problem. They affect millions of households, they happen without warning, and the window between "the lights went out somewhere" and "my family knows about it" is exactly the kind of gap that causes real anxiety. Ting built a free utility to close that gap, no sensor, no installation required. The product was straightforward. The challenge was making a video that communicated it clearly enough to reach people who had never thought to look for something like it, and compellingly enough that they would stop and pay attention when it found them. A feature announcement was not going to cut it. This needed to feel like useful information arriving at the right moment.
We built a motion language around the product's core promise: clarity under pressure. Clean kinetic typography over bold color blocks, a 3D phone treated as a tactile object rather than a prop, and pacing tight enough to carry urgency without tipping into alarm. Type was treated as interface, each word snapping into place with enough intention that the message lands even with the sound off. That last part mattered. Most people encounter video in environments where audio is not guaranteed, and a piece built around voiceover alone loses half its audience before they hear a word.
The result bridges product demo and public service in a way that feels like neither and works as both. Ting got a film that reaches homeowners where they are and gives them a reason to act before the next storm arrives. Knowing something useful is coming is only valuable if the message gets through. That is what this film was built to do.
