While our animator was working on creating a car for one of our current projects, he remembered an effect he could do to give the car more depth. By manipulating paths on the vector, the car begins to look 3D. The effect certainly resembles 3D and could even be applied to more than just cars.

One of the assets the we needed included a truck so we started working on converting an image to vector by hand. This was all done in Illustrator. The final result: Maybe a little too much detail was put in the truck, but overall it looks great and could even benefit future projects.

The character creation process begins with a need for a new character. The animator starts the ideation process with some rough sketches. The director then looks over these sketches and either gives the green light, or provides feedback for improvement. Once it is approved it gets translated into vector via Adobe Illustrator.
